LES ESCALES FRED - MONACO
Ever since Fred Samuel discovered the light on the French Riviera, it has been the heartbeat of the brand. Tender and warm, radiant and feminine, it diffuses its unique glow into every FRED creation.
Slipping back into Fred Samuel’s suit, Vincent Darré, the mischievous storyteller, writes up the second part of FRED’s Sojourns.
When Fred Samuel met Princess Grace in 1976, she was wearing a ring that he himself had designed: "It’s a ring that I adore, I wear it all the time"* her Royal Highness told him. The anecdote and the elegance of the princess led FRED to revisit the Ombre Féline collection, inspired by this famous piece of jewellery
Stopping by Monaco is therefore very special for FRED. Bathed in the light of the Riviera, this great escape shows how much emotion and authenticity is embodied by the history and style of FRED.

LES ESCALES FRED - TOKYO
Whether travelling around it, discovering it, marvelling at it or drawing inspiration from it, Fred Samuel made the world his lifelong playground and creative domain. From South America via Paris to the French Riviera, the Creative Modern Jeweller, as he described himself in 1936, turned the pictures he kept in his mind’s eye into light-filled jewellery pieces and stones glistening with a thousand reflections. The bold pioneer of a relaxed, stylish and versatile form of customisable jewellery, Fred is now embarking aided and abetted by artist Vincent Darré, on a new adventure over land and sea – Les Escales (i.e. port of call in French).
The elegance of pearls, the Riviera daylight, the sun shimmering over the Mediterranean, the thrilling touch of stones against the skin, the water’s magical clarity, the gentle warmth of pink gold - these have been the inspirations behind the Maison FRED for over 80 years, and they have in turn fired the imagination of Vincent Darré who had the idea for this unique voyage.
Each Escale focuses on a particular location, a destination dear to Fred Samuel, telling the tale of the Maison’s founder. A fantastical storyteller, Vincent Darré drifts between Fred Samuel’s epic and the past, present and future of the Maison in a dreamlike, poetical travel log. This narrative odyssey, from one beau to another. And Tokyo has been chosen by FRED and Vincent Darré as the first Escale.
